One of the hardiest apples from the old varieties. Medium
greenish yellow apple with some red striping. Good cooking and
fresh eating apple.
Like all high latitude hardy apple trees, the Battleford Apple
grows to about 20 feet tall, has white non fragrant blossoms that
appear just as the leaves are breaking bud. It has dark green
leaves that turn orange in the fall.
The Battleford is a mid season apple that requires a cross
pollinator to produce fruit. Since it is a mid season tree, it can
cross with a different variety of early, mid or late season
apples.
